Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

  • 08:30 Picked up from your hotel (approximately).
  • 08:45 Departure from Cusco City.
  • 10:45 Arrive to Ollantaytambo train station.
  • 11:15 Departure from the train station of Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu town.
  • 12:45 Arrive to Machu Picchu train station.
  • 12:50 Picked up from the train station by our local staff.
  • 13:15 Check in.
  • 14:15 Free time to choose any optional activity or rest a bit.
  • Optionals (see below)Or Continue with our itinerary Walking to the Botanic Garden and Mandor waterfalls, where you relax and enjoy the beauty of the Cloud Forest nature Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
  • 18:00 Return to Machupicchu Town.

      • 06:00 Depart from Aguas Calientes town to Machu Picchu citadel by bus.
      • 06:45 Arrive to Machu Picchu main entrance gate.
      • 07:15 Meeting with our local guide at the main gate of Machu Picchu.
      • 07:30 Guided tour of Machu Picchu.
      • 08:00 Coca leaf ceremony by the guide.
      • 12:30 Depart from Machu Picchu citadel to Aguas Calientes.
      • 13:15 Arrive to Aguas Calientes town and free time for lunch.
      • 14:25 Time to go to the train station of Machu Picchu.
      • 14:55 Depart to Ollantaytambo by train.
      • 16:30 Arrive to Ollantaytambo Train Station.
      • 16:45 Depart from Ollantaytambo to Cusco by car.
      • 18:15 Arrive to Cusco City.

The time that you will be picked up from your hotel is dependent of the number of people travelling that day, and train schedules are always subject to change, as they are determined by Peru Rail/Inca Rail and are based on availability of spaces, the exact times of your trains will be given to you, after reserve the service. (There is a discount ONLY if the students show the valid student card or ISIC) **Student pricing is only available upon presentation of an ISIC (International Student Identity Card) at the moment of the reservation; also you should show your ISIC (original) at the entrance gate to Machu Picchu.
